Iris Richens

Iris Richens (née Carter; 1923 - c. 2010s) was a wardrobe mistress and costume designer. She was AP Films's tea lady during the production of Thunderbirds. At the end of Thunderbirds, Century 21's head of wardrobe Elizabeth Coleman left the company and Richens succeeded her. Richens was head of wardrobe through the 1968 feature film Thunderbird 6 and remained in this role until Century 21 closed in the early 1970s. She worked under the supervision of Sylvia Anderson. Richens worked a number of films in the 1980s, including Scrubbers (1982) and Nelly's Version (1983). Her last known work within the film industry was on Gerry Anderson's unaired 1986 film Space Police. Richens died in or around the 2010s (exact timing unknown). In January 2024, her grand-niece Emily announced that Richens "has been gone a long time".
